Roberto de Vicq de Cumptich, prolific designer of books & more, is speaking at Tyler School of Art on Friday, March 19, 2010. Join us at 2:00pm in Room 240B.
Roberto is currently principal at his own design firm in NYC specializing in publications, but recently his business has been expanding to include restaurant design and branding. He speaks frequently on typography and type design. He is also the author of several books featuring his own work. His most recent book To All Men of Letters and People of Substance, was selected as one of the AIGA’s 50 best books of 2008. He has received numerous awards from the Art Directors Club, AIGA, D&AD, Communication Arts, Eye, Graphis, How, Print, Type Directors Club and two Webby Awards.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Evan Owen Dennis is an artist and film-maker currently residing in New York City. Evan attended Tyler School of Art where he achieved his BA in graphic design. After years of animation and design work, Evan’s experimental projects lead him to New York City where he freelanced on many motion graphics and animation projects. Evan eventually joined the team at Shilo where he is currently an Associate Creative Director. Evan’s current focus is on directing for commercials, film and music videos. This program is also made possible through the use of the General Activity Fee.

Nathan Shedroff: Sustainable Design Strategy, October 7th, 2009

Nathan Shedroff is one of the pioneers in Experience Design, an approach to design that encompasses multiple senses and requirements and explores common characteristics in all media that make experiences successful, as well as related fields, Interaction Design and Information Design. He speaks and teaches internationally and has written extensively on design and business issues, including, “Experience Design 1” and “Making Meaning.” Nathan is a serial entrepreneur, works in several media, and consults strategically for companies to build better, more meaningful experiences for their customers. His latest book, “Design is the Problem” from Rosenfeld Media, is an exhaustive primer on sustainable design.
