Interact 11: Call for Submissions EXTENTION!

Interact 11 will be held on Friday May 17th at 5:00pm in Room B04, Tyler School of Art, Temple University. 

EXTENDED Submission due date: Saturday May 11th, 2013.  

All current Graphic & Interactive Design students are eligable to enter their work. Current students may enter up to four projects. All submissions must be viewable online. If you are submitting animations or iPad apps, please upload a video of your animations or the iPad app in use, to vimeo and send us those links. For mobile apps, send us a URL to view the app, or share with us screen grabs of the phone apps. Email all submissions to infogaid@temple.edu. You must enter ”Interact 11 submissions” in the subject line. 

Once again, this year, Interact 11 will be open to all Graphic & Interactive Design alumni. Tyler Graphic & Interactive Design alumni may enter up to three projects. There is no fee to enter work. All work must be viewable online.

SENIOR PORTFOLIO PRESENTATIONS

The class of 2013 in Graphic & Interactive Design: print, interactive, hybrid and illustration. THURSDAY, MAY 9, 4:00–6:00 PM in the Green Hallway at Tyler School of Art. Recruiters, students, faculty, family, alumni and friends are welcome!

Debbie Millman Presentation

Debbie Millman will be giving a talk on Friday, November 9th at 2:00pm in B04. As the juror of the Annual Restaurant Identity Exhibition, she will also be announcing the winning selections immediately following her talk. This program is presented by Graphic & Interactive Design [GAID] and is made possible through the use of General Activities Fees. ALL ARE WELCOME!

Debbie Millman has worked in the design business for over 25 years. She is President of the design division at Sterling Brands. She has been there for 17 years and in that time she has worked on the redesign of over 200 global brands. Debbie is President Emeritus of the AIGA, the largest professional association for design. She is a contributing editor at Print Magazine, a design writer at FastCompany.com and Chair of the Masters in Branding Program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In 2005, she began hosting the first weekly radio talk show about design on the Internet. The show is titled “Design Matters with Debbie Millman” and it is now featured on DesignObserver.com. In 2011, the show was awarded a Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. Debbie is the author of five books on design including “Brand Thinking and Other Noble Pursuits,” (Allworth Press, 2011), “Look Both Ways: Illustrated Essays on the Intersection of Life and Design,” (HOW Books, 2009) and “How To Think Like A Great Graphic Designer” (Allworth Press, 2007).

Senior Design Exhibition Reception 2012

Opening: Tuesday May 8. Reception: Friday May 11 2012, 7:00-9:00 pm. This reception is concurrent with the reception for the MFA thesis exhibitions of Hannah Johnson, Trent Edwards and Yuan Yao.
